Many PFSOs’ attended their initial training courses ten or more years ago. Whilst there is no legal requirement to attend refresher courses the changes in terrorist tactics coupled with legislative changes mean that responsible companies tend to want their PFSOs’ to attend a refresher every 3 – 4 years.
These one-day courses cover new legislation applicable to the role of the PFSO and this includes Powers of Arrest & Detention (as amended by S.O.C.A.P. 2005), and Port Security Regulations 2009. Practical searching of people and vehicles. Also, delegates will have the opportunity to handle firearms and explosives using our new training aids which are designed to enhance the learning experience. Courses can be delivered either at your own facilities (for groups of 4 or more) or at our offices.
